Hineni – Here I Am, Send Me
Grandma Patches Story-February 2025

Here is my small blurb of my experience in Kenya with Messianic Hope International. My takeaway is this, “No matter where you go, there you are, and where you are Yehovah is with you also.” From misplacing my passport at home and being separated from the team to the delay the next day at take-off, 5 hours, to my 18-hour layover in Qatar, to someone trying to steal from me on the flight from Qatar to Nairobi, there I was. Yet, Yehovah is everywhere as well. Whether you are in America, in Qatar, or in Kenya, he is there beside you, going through it with you. HE never leaves you, and HE never forsakes you. HE is your ultimate traveling “buddy.”

What happened? Yehovah had me two seats away from an older man who is a pastor and an international traveler who helped me through all the ins and outs of the traveling process. There were many funny things that happened along the way, but the highlight is that I wrote my third children’s book, first draft, in 1 hour at the hotel in Qatar and then I was off for my flight. Is Yehovah amazing? I should say so!

When I arrived in Kenya two days after the team, I was amazed at what Yehovah is doing through Messianic Hope International. It was an enriching experience to work alongside committed staff and volunteers who significantly impact children’s lives and bring hope to orphans and children in public schools.

The energy and dedication exhibited by those involved was such a blessing to be a part of. The gracious attitude towards one another and those they served was truly amazing. Seeing the children’s excitement and experiencing their joy at seeing Messianic Hope International as we entered the orphanages and schools was something to experience. We were greeted with song and dancing and then the fun would begin.

It was obvious that the Messianic Hope International team had built relationships with the orphanages and schools in the last year, and that the children and faculty were receiving the hope and message that came forth from them. It was such a blessing to have been a part of this team, and I hope to return to serve with them in the future.

May Yehovah continue to bless them as they continue to reach children where they are at with the hope of redemption through the Messiah, one child at a time!
